Took a taxi w/ Betsy & Joanne Akalaitas to Villa Guilia. Great Dog/Vase from V Sec. and many Giacommetti-like stick people. Ate lunch at Il Brillo (see card) then walked to Galleria Doria Pamphils and was struck by great Velasquez portrait of the pope and 2 early Carravagios "La Maddalena" and Rest during the flight to Egypt. Also loved the Jan van Kessel still lifes. Dinner at Maureen's apartment w/ many from Academy - very funny posting for lecture had me laughing hard at myself when I believed it.
